Bronze on a stainless steel column

2003

Manchester, England
Venus Trinity reimagines the classical muse as a symbol of shared identity rather than idealised beauty.
Three female forms stand together, variations of the same figure, their surfaces echoing both time-worn stone and modern material. Each figure reflects a different state of being: emergence, balance, and poise.
The work explores how repetition transforms meaning; how a single form, seen in sequence, becomes dialogue. Together, they embody the timeless interplay between individuality and collective presence between the figure and the space it inhabits.
Like much of my work, Venus Trinity is less about myth and more about place. It invites reflection on how the human form continues to define and animate our shared environments. Whether set within architecture, landscape, or gallery, the sculpture becomes a quiet focal point, a reminder that sculpture creates places, and that every place, in turn, shapes how we see ourselves.
