The Spirit of New Orleans – Manchester
Spofforth’s first public commission, The Spirit of New Orleans is a life-size bronze quartet of jazz musicians at Manchester’s Trafford Centre. Inspired by traditional jazz and informed by a visit to Bourbon Street, the work captures the energy, heritage, and humanity of music. It remains one of the UK’s most photographed sculptures and a joyful tribute to cultural identity.
